IQ Speed Setting Question
So when I bought my 2004 CC IQ, the seller told me it was on the program setting 3. He said I could take it to a dealer and have it re-programed to a 4 if I wanted.
I put my Garmin on it last night and it will run a solid, steady 18mph. It even hit 19mph for a few seconds. Does this speed sound consistent with a level 3? (I'm running 23" All trails/6" lift, by the way) How much of a speed increase can I expect if I have it moved to level 4? Will I lose or gain any torque? Also, how much will the dealer charge me for the re-program? Thanks skm |

Re: IQ Speed Setting Question
If you can move to level 4 the torque will be reduced. With that tire size you will likely lose speed as well.
There is only so much you can get with a fixed voltage and amperage, increases in torque generally mean reduction in speed and vice versa. |

Re: IQ Speed Setting Question
Is there any way to change the speed setting your self? Can you buy a part that will hook a laptop upto the cart? or is this somethign that only a Club Cart dealer can do?

Re: IQ Speed Setting Question
skm2006,
hey i like your cart - I see we have very similar styling tastes. Anyway check my post "basic speed upgrade information". I would post a link but don't know how, just try a quick search. For my 2006 iq ds i had satisfactory results with the speed code upgrade. I averaged 21 - 22 mph with a fresh charge. good luck - let us know your results |

But, from what I understand they run $600.00 to $700.00... If you work on a ton of IQ carts... It would be worth it! Otherwise, for that kind of money, it's not "justifiable"! |

Re: IQ Speed Setting Question
Speed code 4 is going to cost between $85 to $100 plus when ordered by a Club Car Dealer and then for them to upload it. With your tires you'll hit 20-21MPH. For $300 for a PlumQuick motor you'll hit 25 to 26MPH with more torque and still have your old motor if ever needed.

Re: IQ Speed Setting Question
Scubabud -
I've checked out the Plum Quick website, and it doesnt look like they exist on ebay or anywhere else. So can you just buy a motor from them, or do you send them yours to rebuild or what? How easy is the install? |
