Suspension bushings on 91 CC
The front end on my 91 36v was clattering and banging up and down the street, so I took apart the fron suspension to see where the play is.
Seems that there's play in the lower A-plate bushings - easy fix, except that different websites list different parts. The bushings are currently black urethane. Some sites list these, but some list brass bushings - which is correct? Does anyone have the CC part number? Also, there's a huge amount of play in the A-plate upper bushings, which i've filled with grease and tightened to no avail. I've not tried to remove them, but it seems these ones are brass. How hard are they to remove? Is there a technique or tool? Thanks, Tim |

Re: Suspension bushings on 91 CC
The lower bushings (front leaf spring bushings) are OEM# 1012303
The bronze bushings are just tapped in. You can remove them with a punch and gently tap them back in with a hammer. The OEM# 7719 You may find the shoulder bolts worn as well. The short bolt in the upper A-Plate is OEM#1010125. The longer inside shoulder bolt is OEM#1010126 I hope this helps and please let us know if we can help! Mark |

Re: Suspension bushings on 91 CC
Thanks for the quick reply - much appreciated.
Is this the right part? The picture of that part doesn't match what I currently have. I thought I might need 1015583 for the A-plate lower bushings? |

Re: Suspension bushings on 91 CC
OEM#1012303 is the kit which includes two bushings and the sleeve.
OEM#1015583 is the correct bushing, but it is for a quanity of one bushing only. |

Re: Suspension bushings on 91 CC
OK, thanks very much!
Next is that there seems to be side to side play in the passenger side kingpin. I've not taken it off, so don't know what's inside. What is most likely to need replacing? |

Re: Suspension bushings on 91 CC
Hard to say, but most commonly it is the spindle bushings and often there is a good bit of wear on the kingpin itself. There is also a thrust bearing (bronze washer on top of the spindle) that wears as well.
Upper Bushing OEM#8067 Lower Bushing OEM#7048 Kingpin OEM# 1016386 Thrust Bearing OEM# 1010150 *NOTE: The upper and lower spindle bushings can be installed without the reamer, however, for proper alignment and fitment once installed, they will need to be reamed for the bushings to be aligned for the kingpin. |

Hey Mark! For a new guy you seem to know your stuff!
Just kidding, thanks for supporting the forum with your sponsorship. I wish I had known about your engine re-building program before delving into it on my own, months back. I would have saved a lot of time, headache and money. A re-ring is cheap until it leads to all the other problems a novice can miss! |

Re: Suspension bushings on 91 CC
Thanks for all the help. Luckily the local Club Car dealer is just a mile down the road from where I work, and he had all the parts in stock. Fitted all the bushings and it's now nice and tight up front.
