Club Car 36V Always Hot/On
Hello,
We have a 96 Club Car DS that is always on even without the key in it! It also seems to have allot of power like it is on cruise control. What could be the problem? When we put it in Forward it sparks by the copper strip on the Forward & Reverse Switch Assembly. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeanny |

It is usually a stuck solenoid from what you describe, replace it.

Re: Club Car 36V Always Hot/On
Just an afterthought here. If you want to be sure it is the solenoid...you could do an easy check. At the f/r switch, disconnect one of the small wires on the little switch mounted at the top of the f/r assembly. This is the activation circuit for the solenoid, so if you pull one of the wires, and the cart still goes, you definately have a stuck solenoid. If it doesn't move, then you know you have a wiring issue.

Will do! I also ordered the part off Ebay. We only use the cart on weekends at our campground but it would be nice for it to be back to normal. I have to be careful to double check it is in neutral or it will drive away! LOL
