Re: Need For Speed, Motor and Upgrade Results
The speed code 4 you will have to get from a Club Car dealer, but if you opt for the PQ motor you will not need the speed code 4 because somehow the PQ motor will get your speed up to around 22 mph (estimate) no matter what speed code you have in the cart. Also, the speed code from a dealer will cost somewhere between $100 to $150 depending on the dealer and probably their attitude for the day.

Re: Need For Speed, Motor and Upgrade Results
If you are going to upgrade the Motor or Controller dont pay for speed code 4 Upgrade,
Until you get your new hardware installed ! The reason I say this is , many Moters like PQ and some controllers trick the Cart into speed code 4 without having to pay CC $100 ++ . |

Right now I am VERY HAPPY with just the motor upgrade which was $300 well spent. There was a 2005 street legal Precedent at Ft. Wilderness with 22" tires with code 4 that I raced from a dead stop. I pulled away from the start, (slowly but consistently,) and kept it up till I was doing 26.8 to his 21.5 mph, (my GPS to his GPS.) I believe that if I had an Alltrax 400 along with 4 ga wires I would have leaped ahead from the start instead of a slow but constant pull away. |

Re: Need For Speed, Motor and Upgrade Results
6:1 gears finally installed! An accomplishment of mammoth proportions for me mechanically. Besides a few basic problems it was pretty easy.
Just got back from a test drive and my top speed went from 20.8mph to 26mph. Very disappointed to say the least. So I checked the voltage across my 6 1/2 year old batteries and it read 48.4v ok, ok, ok, who said it was time to dust off the wallet again and pony up some lettuce for new batteries? Ox or Scuba? Yup. Well, I'll get those new batteries and we'll see what numbers I can run. I am hoping for a drastic improvement (32-35mph). That was my goal from the beginning. At least it all works. |
