Default PowerDrive 48v charger with 15amp breaker??

I have a 95 club car 48v regen I. It came with a powerdrive charger with 15 amp breaker. THe breaker trips after about 1 minte of charging. It is showing it is pulling 18 amps on gauge before it trips. I know I have discharged batteries and I am trying to get them up. On all the post I see about chargers they say they are pulling 20 to 25 amps and then it drops down as battery charges. How does this work with only a 15 amp breaker on my charger?????

The AC circuit breaker can handle a bit more amps then rated for a short period of time. But if constant then the additional heat created will pull apart its contact points shutting down the charger. If there was a hugh excess of current draw then the breaker would pull apart right away.

Have you tried another charger on your cart?

Have you tried your charger on a different cart?
