2001 CC Battery Dummy Light (trigger?)
Does anyone know what the programmed trigger is, and/or the voltage for the dash single light (amber dummy light, no level indicator)?
I would imagine the OBC monitors the pack voltage and signals the light at a predetermined set point, but hesitate to go by this... |

VW, check it with a voltmeter when it first appears and refer to the battery chart to ..... never take the pack down below 50% for best performance and longest battery life.....

Mine is only a 3.5 digit so... um... yours is bigger! In case anyone is interested as well this meter IS adjustable. I've attached a picture and circled the adjustment screw for adjusting meter voltage up or down... its very sensitive. |

Mine's BIGGER actually didn't find it smaller...that's okay... the price is great. Cheaper than another idiot type gauge.

Re: 2001 CC Battery Dummy Light (trigger?)
Scuba - Thanks bud this is what I was looking for!! ....and I have seen your digital meter (is on my needs list ); I too am a litlle anal about specs and numbers and found your install awesome - can this meter be a dropin replacement for whats there (electrically) or will there be more connections?
Scottyb - Yep, was all over the SoC table this morning after my first drive/full charge; I have read the 50% point on here alot, but think my goal is going to be in the 70-75% range - this is just MY preference. Thanks guys for weighing in - much appreciated Quote:

Re: 2001 CC Battery Dummy Light (trigger?)
Nope... its not to connect to the Orange light leads. You will have to cut out the hole just right for it to SNAP into place and the wiring is really very simple. Just read the other thread as well as the directions that will come with it. Think of this as; you'll need to supply power for it to light up/work and you'll also have to supply a wire to it for it to read pack voltage, (so 4 wires total.) It should give you the option to use the same ground for both the voltage sensing portion as well as the initial power to light up/work the meter. Like I said, read the directions since all meters could/would be different.
