solonoid clicking,running with key off
I have a 2001 club car that I upgraded the controller to 400 amp and added a high speed motor. Everything ran fine for a while and now when I plug in the charger the solonoid by the controller clicks and clicks again when the charger is unplugged. The cart also runs with the key in the off position which it didnt do before. The cart seems to run ok now except for those two things. Any ideas of what it could be. THANKS

Re: solonoid clicking, running with key off
It sounds as though the solenoid has failed. Read this:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...ns-learned.pdf The keyswitch is typically wired to the positive side of the solenoid. Turning the key on energizes the solenoid. The solenoid in turn provides power to the controller. Turning the key off interrupts the power. The solenoid contacts may not be releasing, allowing power to the controller at all times. |
