Choosing the right cart.

Ok finally found a cart to buy. Looks like I can get a 2004 CC 48 volt for $1200. It has 4 2006 batteries and 2 2008 batteries. Sound like a good deal?

What would be a good check list to follow when purchasing a used cart to ensure I'm not buying junk?

I would LOAD TEST those batteries. the rule of thumb is never mix new and old batts. At some point someone put 2 new batts in the 2 yr old pack.... assume all batteries are 2006 and 3 yrs old...... 5 yrs is near the end of the average lifespan.... the price sounds reasonable enough

Cart prices Vary region to region and seasonally too. You should be seeing some end of the season specials! Are you checking your local craigslist for golf carts ??? There you will learn the prices in your area. Don't be afraid to offer 20% less than the asking price.
Harbor Freight sells a $25 Load tester which determines the condition of a battery... Or a simple hydrometer? But if nothing else the age is stamped into the base of the NEG battery terminal. Like A7 means the battery was new January 2007. Batteries abused last about 3 years, well cared for they can go 8.... Happy hunting
