Wide Open or cruising slow?
I'm still a newbie and "need to know" ALOT! I have a 2006 Club Car DS 48 volt electric. Is it better for the cart to run wide open OR is a slow cruise OK? My wife and I use it every afternoon to watch the turkeys and deer and that needs a very slow sneak speed. I rarely go wide open. I'm old.

Nothing wrong with a slow cruise....keeps the beverages from spilling
I think that the WOT issue is mostly related to older resistor carts. |

Re: Wide Open or cruising slow?
if you have a controller it is not an issue, if it is a vglide you need to either have it wot(Wide open Throttle) or coasting. riding it half way is bad on it. Makes alot of heat and will burn up the resistors I believe.

Re: Wide Open or cruising slow?
I didn't know this, but recently my neighbor and I were running around in the carts, and we ended up topping to talk... for whatever reason we were like creeping along at an ultra slow pace while we were talking, and when we finally left and went home, I could feel heat radiating from the resistors in the cart. They get VERY hot if you 'idle' along for an extended period of time. Lesson learned, I just haul butt everywhere now.
