If you are reading 8 volts then your batteries are more than likely shot. At minimum an eight volt battery should read 8.25, I believe in this range anyway, maybe one of the experts will chime in.

Would that cause it to not charge?

Possibly, but probably not the case. It sounds like your pack voltage is high enough for the powerdrive to acknowledge, sounds lot like a short, or a faulty obc. Is this the cart in your other thread that you were trying to buy?

No! They do not have to be unhooked. What are you getting for a total pack reading? RE check your volt meter, are the batters in it good, Is it on the right setting. Recheck each battery. POS & NEG of each battery. Scrape the top of the B/Post to get a clean connection.

Dame you guys type fast.

You can bypass the obc by swapping a wire in the charger, making it no longer automatic, I'm not sure the color without looking at it, if you search bypassing obc you should find it. This will force charge your batteries, just be careful not to overcharge. As much as I hate to tell you this they are probably shot. Have you opened the batteries up and looked inside them?

Volt meter is good. Running at 8 volt. I can't seem to find how to bypass obc

1-unplug charger
remove cover
look at the wires coming in off of the A.C. plug.
one goes directly to the xformer
one goes to a spade connector which has another bonded spade with jumper
remove jumper completely
from xformer is another wire going to spade on the same assembly(cant remember what it is some type of sensor I'm sure) this wire needs to be connected directly to incoming wire from ac plug
If this doesnt make sense or my description is innacurate post a pic as it has been quite some time since I have opened a powerdrive charger.

look behind the charge receptacle on the cart, under the seat. There is a round yellow plug that pulls apart with a fuse in it. leave the fuse pushed in on the side attatched to the charge receptacle. Put a jumper wire from the battery pack negative post and attatch to the fuse sticking out of the yellow plug/connector. Thsi bypasses the OBC control and jumps the relay in the charger and turns on the charger. This is easier than removing the cover on charger and unplugging wires from relay and bypassing the relay. Good luck
