Default 2017 club car Subaru clutch machining (I wanna go fast!)

Hey guys, so I’ve had several pretty fast club cars..and on each one of them, cart parts plus machined the drive clutches and every time .. it got me an extra 5mph up top. So, now I’ve got a 2017 club car with the Subaru in it. I’ve installed high speed gears and it’s running right about 36mph on stock tires. Of course I’m looking for more speed.. a year or so ago I called cart parts plus and they said they no longer machine drive clutches.. I believe the person who did it had passed 😢.. I’m hoping someone can tell me if anyone else is getting this done and where.. ??? Thanks!

They are now machining them again. I got my clutch machined two weeks ago. Give them a call.

I have the ability to machine any shape/size..
But what exactly are they machining? The faces? Do they change the springs? Just curious how they are getting that much more out of them?

I believe that they are matching the base where the faces touch when at max rpm. It allows the belt to ride to the edge of the clutch face.. using all the available area..

You can do that yourself if you have a belt sander and some free time.

Grinding wheel will not leave the faces flat... either machine it or use a wide belt sander.

I was able to do the moveable half of my DS clutch with my 6" belt sander but got my neighbor who has a machine shop machine the fixed side. Not sure how I could do the fixed half without a lathe.

Ok I’d like some info!! It seems that cart parts plus does not machine drive clutches any longer.. is there any chance you have some pictures of the two sections you machined down.. and also by how much if you remember.. thanks!
