Piston Ring Question
Hi Guys,
I have recently acquired an 84 G1 that wouldn't run - no compression. Of coarse upon pulling the head the piston flops around in the jug :( Ok I got a new top end kit & looking at the rings I want to make sure my thinking is right. At the ring gap one side of the ring comes closer together than the other - as best as I can explain it (see the pic). My thinking is the closer side as I am calling it goes towards the top of the piston on the top groove but does it do the same for the bottom or is it just the oposite with the closer side pointing to the bottom of the piston?? Thanks for any advice here! Steve |
