That's what I ended up doing, fused switch for both lights and fuel gauge.
I managed to get a precendent roof and rear section, hooked up to a DS front screen and frame. It took a little modifying but it's starting to come together now, I've only got to finish paint, and reassemble, I'll post some more pics when I'm finished.
Great paint job by the way, it looks awesome!
