2006 Precedent, engine questions 290 or 350?
What year did a 350 engine come standard in them?
Or was a 350 always an option? I’ve seen older precedents with a 295 and newer ones with a 350 but I don’t know much when or what it took to get this 350 engine in it from the factory. Anyone know any details on this? I know I can look on the engine tag as I’m going to go look at one, it’s just info I’d like to know for future carts I may buy that aren’t close to me that I have to drive a ways to look at. |

FE290, not 295.
Can't answer you but Google is your friend. |

It was a simple typo... If you can't answer? then don't!
(and Google will just send him here anyway!) In 2004, the FE290's were standard, In 2005/06, FE290's were still standard, but FE350's were an option, then 2007 and up, FE350's were standard. |

Lockman, there’s always a fool in every group....
I pulled up a search and the 2006 owners manual said 350. I was searching, I don’t know if true, in 06 350 was standard but 290 was an option as golf courses liked the 290 as it was quieter vs a 350. Who knows I’ll see when I look at the cart |

Re: 2006 Precedent, engine questions 290 or 350?
I was using misc. Precedent Illustrated Parts Lists for info, and the combined 05-06 parts list shows both engines,
It doesn't say what was "standard" for what year. I just assumed the FE290 was standard for those years. But that's good to know for future reference! |

Black Death - took one minute to find this post from Lockman, on this forum, from 7/27/11. Maybe this can also refresh his memory, and maybe you are the fool for criticizing someone else and not taking a few minutes of time to do some research.

I sure wouldn't mind having one though! The tag will tell you! |

Huh... well, I'll be darned!
It might have been a good idea if you would've posted that earlier! Even with that, I didn't know, nor does it give an exact transition year that BD was looking for! |

Re: 2006 Precedent, engine questions 290 or 350?
Good info, I’m glad you found it.
When I search for 2006 owners manual it only showed a 350 engine in the club car pdf files. Now I know what I found doesn’t mean anything as who really knows if it was 06 or 07 they made them standard and not an option. But on that list it says the DS never had the 350 as a standard more an option or when did they quit making the 290 engine? Anyone know off the top of their head? |

Re: 2006 Precedent, engine questions 290 or 350?
I remember something that Tahoe (David @ Revolution) mentioned...
The new (at the time) 2012 DS pedal start carts now had an FE350 w/ACR! The reason that stuck with me was ACR's (Automatic Compression Release valve) are usually only used in key start carts. I'm not sure if the 290's became obsolete at that time, or the FE350 w/ACR was an option! |
