Default Par car runs, then dies

Well, after the kids broke the F-R switch (now stuck in F) and somehow made the alternator belt get loose, I've got the cart moving again (and am waiting for my wife to finish re-upholstering the seats). Problem is, it will run for a while pretty good, then just bog down and die. I stop, hit the gas again, and it starts right up, and dies. Over and over. I let it sit for a minute or so, and it runs fine again for a while. I've messed a little with the screw on the carb, and notice not difference.

Any ideas? It's been doing this since before I rebuilt the carb, but now I've lost one of the welch plugs out of the carb, so I guess I need to order another rebuilt kit. I supposed I'll remove the carb and take it apart - see if I can figure out if the float is sticking or something, but am looking for any ideas. A carb expert I am not (actually, not much of an expert at anything). Appreciate any ideas.

I have been reading up on these for a few weeks and there is a thread on this site about the muffler being clogged and needing to be cleaned.

Allso try here

I don't supposed there's anywhere that would carry welch plugs?? I need to replace one, and it'll probably cost me more than $20 for ANOTHER rebuild kit, plus shipping.

Great links! Thanks. I found that Jacks site, but didn't see the parts. I was kinda hoping that these might be found as saw Home Depot or something (yeah, I know, a stretch) so I could pick them up locally. Might be cheaper after shipping to just get the whole rebuild kit, but those links should help me out anyway. Thanks!

Actually, I think I might order the plugs, AND another kit, and a new float. The prices there are pretty good, and I should get them quick. That way I'll have everything on hand for under $20.

Waiting to get my parts in, so I removed the entire intake to take a look. Reed valve looks fine (not that I know what it should look like, but it looks pretty much like new), float isn't getting filled with gas, but I ordered a new one anyway. I'll clean the carb again, replace all of the gaskets, and the missing welch plug and see what happens.

At this point I'm back to thinking about the fuel pump, which I've already rebuilt. I'm going to change all of the fuel line to clear, so I can see if gas is flowing well, all the time. But on second thought, if it WAS the fuel pump, then why, after it dies, is the carb bowl still full of fuel. Pump really should be a problem.

Some photos of the reed valve, and intake removed.
