going 16 hp engine question
im picking up a 16hp vanguard briggs v twin engine tomorrow it all ready has a golf cart clutch on it dont know from what model though guy said it came from a golf cart it has carb ,filter, gas tank, starter, muffler basically 95% ready to drop in my club car i think would this be even worth going through the hassle to upgrade my fe290 engine in my club car? i already have it lifted 6" and running 20-10-8 tires all the way around would i notice a good differance in performance from the 290 i have now? thanks in advance

Re: going 16 hp engine question
No not at all. Give me the engine and I'll dispose of it properly.
Yes, there will be a huge difference. You will be going from 9hp to 16hp. You should have some good low end torque. Plus it will sound cool |

Re: going 16 hp engine question
did you take the clutch off the engine yet? i think i would want to know how the clutch is mounted, that looks like a generator engine.

Re: going 16 hp engine question
this is the 16hp generator engine and the ez go clutch won't fit right with the gen taper, the oil filter is another sign of the gen. most filters tuck under the cylinder.

Re: going 16 hp engine question
it would take a puller, was there ever a mounting bolt in the clutch.
it may work just fine the way it is, but the ez go clutch will not fit on that engine with out some mods. |
