Sorry one more question
On my motor driver side there was a 3 to 4 inch cable from the frame to the motor. I broke it. Whats its purpose? Do i really need it?

Re: Sorry one more question
The cable's function is to ground the motor's electrical system. Yes, you need to have it

I would use the correct length pre-made battery cable, with the eyelets on each end. Any parts store.....

Re: Sorry one more question
Sounds like you are talking about the Tensioner cable. Check # 13 in this diagram.

Re: Sorry one more question
The tensioner cable is just that: a tensiuoner cable not a GROUND cable. It is attached to the driver side front engine support and a kind of metal pillar or mount to keep the engine from being pulled back on acceleration.

Re: Sorry one more question
Back in the day Yamaha had very soft motor mounts and the cable was used to keep the motor in place and correct tension on the belt.
If you are having trouble finding one you can replace it with a small piece of chain or turnbuckle. |
