Starts out fast then slows down a bit?
When I hit the gas it starts out strong for the first 45 seconds then it slows down a bit maybe a 1 -2 mph less. Still runs geat at the slower speed. What could be causing this. The carb float? Is it burning the gas out of the carb and can not fill it back up fast enoungh?
 I do get a slight gas smell at times. |

Sounds like possibly the governor kicking in if it only does it at top speed.

As soon as I hit very high rpm's the engine just shutdown. It slowed a bit and kicked back in and then again over and over. I thought OMGosh, I've blown this thing up. LOL!!! It was the 'rev. limiter'. I was used to G9's which don't have them. |

If the carb runs out of gas it will miss badly, sounds like the governor is still on it. If you hit a rev limit its like turning the key off and back on.
