Default 1993 CC won't fire

1993 club car has been running fine with the exception of having to charge 12v battery after about 2-3 hours of use(assume the generator is not working). the other day it stopped doing anything as it always does when the 12v battery get low. charged the battery and still nothing. I have 12.8 volts at the battery and where the battery hooks up on the solenoid. starter side of solenoid has nothing. small terminals of the solenoid have 12.8 volts when key is in the on position. tried jumping battery side of solenoid to starter side and nothing happened. the solenoid had been making a clicking noise but has since stopped that. I checked the fuse and it also appears to test as good. any other ideas of what I should try from here? also what can I do to fix my charging issue? my kids are begging you to help me....

Sounds like your starter/gen needs replaced or rebuilt. What starts the engine also charges the battery.

are you sure the fuse is good? if so make sure your dealing with a good fully charged battery and than see what happens.....if nothing then jump the 2 large post on the solenoid see if it cranks over if so its either the microswitch in black box or solenoid..............while in there change voltage regulator and cart will charge...........................................8 )

the wear? if they are worn down to much the springs don,t put enough pressure on them to make good contact with armature hence the starter won,t turn over......there are minimum wear lines on brushes if you can,t see them then they are already down in the holder and worn out..............................
