Ok after some cleaning and thinking real hard. I've come to believe that it is a crack on the spacer between the carb and the motor. Would this be causing all the problems and not make the cart pull like a mule?

It usually is worse at low throttle when it has vacuum. You have to determine if it is the engine or cvt, the cvt reacts to the engine so low power means it shifts out more and you don't get low gear as much. Does that cart have a tension cable, usually under the gen it holds the engine mount under high torque. If that or mounts are bad and engine moves closer to trans under power that will make it bog on hills. It will die down like it has no power. The cvt will keep the engine rpm up working properly, except under 3mph or whatever it is. A cut sheave and/or the HD belt will also help lowest gearing. They don't affect higher speeds, well the belt might a little I don't know. The tighter the belt the better it takes off, but at a point it will lose top speed if belt is too tight. Or you could have an engine issue like a dirty carb/bad hose/leaky airbox/etc.

Well took the carb off and inspected it all. There is no o ring gasket on the bowl of the carb, and ya the spacer is cracked. These are the only 2 problems I could find tonight. I will look at it again in the morning when I go to the shop.

I took it out again today when it was earlier in the day and tried it out on some different types of inclines and almost any incline that if I stopped and then tried to go up it, I wouldn't make it. A gradual incline up the yard it would but anything anymore it will dog out and stop part way up it and it don't spin the tires or make any other noises besides die down to where it is almost not running.

If I wanted to make it up any incline I had to get a running head start at it. I have 22 inch tires on it but didn't think it would run this bad!

Is there any chance you could come up with a way to be able to see what the clutches are doing when it bogs down going up hill? If you could see if they are doing what they should be doing you could definitely eliminate them as the problem. I would think fixing the cracked spacer would have made some improvement. Just out of curiosity, how did the cart run before you started the mods.?? - RAY

FWIW - When I first got my cart it was absolutely terrible on hills, and I have a couple of pretty steep ones!! I replaced 3 flat rollers and bushing in my primary clutch, installed a torque spring and new plastic ramps in the secondary clutch, reamed the main jet just slightly and tightened down the governor nut. I couldn't believe it was the same cart - (can't be stopped). I did lose a little top speed but the extra grunt is well worth it. In my case the clutch work was the fix that helped the most. You must have something else going on in your case.

Ya I can, I will run it with the seat off tonight. It ran a little rough but I'm no cart expert. Noticed last night when I was pulling into the shop that just slowly moving and idling the cart wouldn't keep a nice rpm and was acting like it was chugging.

Ya plus I had bought the new govenor spring from cpp and got that installed. It's supposed to increase my top speed by 50% but don't see that either! I had drove a g2 at the local golf course and that thing would out pull and out run mine and it was stock. Figured I had a lemon.

Bubba, need to check motor mounts, they can't be broken, torque cable next to starter (on motor mount). That cracked spacer has to be changed, along with new gaskets there, as well as the bowl gasket.

The lid on the air cleaner has to seal perfact (easy for those to warp out of shape). Mine was, but was able to train it back to fit correctly. Take the whole air box out of the car, and assemble it on your work bench, making sure there is an O ring in the top and the hooks for the straps are there, and the 4 straps are new. It is imparative that this is done right, or the car will not run correctly.

Then take the cover off the primary clutch, clean all of this up pristeen, I put a small amount of dry chain lube on the moving parts of the weights, but other people run them dry. Move the weights to see if one is looser or worn more than the others. May need to replace one or more. Then 1 to 2 pumps of grease only, in each zirk on each clutch. That zirk lubs the shaft and bushings only.

All these things have to work before you get a good running car.
