1997 g16 wont do any thing when I press the pedal
I have 1997 yamaha g16, it sat for 3 months, so I decided I should run it. When I pressed the gas pedal nothing happend. So i expected the obvious, (dead battery) I charged it for a coulple hours and tested it on another golf cart, it worked. So I got my tester out and tesed for power, the switch is fine and the pedal switch tested good and i jumped the solenoid and it clicked and the starter spun. After this I started tesing everthing, when I set the testor on the engine in lit up, so this makes me think i have a short or a bad connection somewhere. If any one know common bad connections on these or common spots that they short out, pleas let me know.

Check all Ground's that is the biggest problem with the Yamaha's.
I grounded everything to the battery. Hope this helps!!!!! |

Check the fuse in front of left rear wheel well.

Re: 1997 g16 wont do any thing when I press the pedal
If you have jumper cables or a piece of wire put it from the engine to the negative battery terminal.
Also there is a small wire coming off the neg wire at the starter gen. Unplug it and make sure it is clean. Bob T |
