Default gas in oil

I'm getting gas in my oil on my 98 g16. It's filling the oil level in the case and then I'm getting oil/gas blow back into the motor. What do you think it is? I have my thoughts, but want to hear to thers opinions first. the dipstick smells like gas and oil.

Thanks,
Ray

Most likely the float/needle are sticking and the gas has no were to go but past the rings and into the crank case. Ethynol gas has alot to do with carb's getting junked up. remove and clean the carb, drain the oil/gas and replace with 1 qt only. Some members like "pure synthetic oil", it doesn't attrack the moisture from the ethynol gas like the most common "blend oils" used now.

Yes, ruptured diaphram in fuel pump will also fill crankcase, but, i would be looking for a "ring groove" in the carb needle first. Needle is cheaper than fuel pump, look there first with the hopes of a cheaper repair.

I took my fuel pump apart and put it back together without additional parts. Was just check for crud(was clean)!!!! Be sure to mark the alignment of the pieces before dis-assembly.

Yes usually bad float or bad pump. If float it likely will only do it when the tank is full of fuel higher than the carb.

That has to be a real bummer. I sure hope you get it figured out without spending more money.
Good luck.
