there is a real good chance that you have a ground problem to your Ignitor mounted on the side of the tank. closely inspect all BLACK wires on the wiring harness on right side close to the solenoid. there are 3 different bullet connectors that could be unplugged or corroded . just remember that any solid black wire is a ground wire. As to what model of cart you have. it does make a difference with Ignitor mounted on side of tank G-9 has a 5 pin with 2 mounting bolts , a G-2 has a larger number of pins maybe 7 or 9 ?? and mounts in a rubber saddle. a G2 also has a red oil light just behind brake pedal at 10 oclock from pedal, and a G9 does Not

Dude, will the vent that's in my G8 tank fit his G2?

Always wondered about that!

Thank you for all the information.
I did notice that there is a box... with 3 prongs on the drivers side on the top of the wheel well, and the connectors are really corroded... so i'll probably have to remove the wires and clean them off with a wire brush and some water with baking soda..

also there are A TON of wires that are "butt" connected and there is a lot of exposed wire.. someone did a very sloppy job on all the wires.. once i get into it and my OCD and ADD kick in those wires will look like they are on the space shuttle

I do notice that the red oil light turns on several times when i'm driving.. i checked the oil level and it's just above the minimum level.. so i'll be flushing it out and filling it up, as well as the transmission.

No but its better than what came in a G2!

Tried to load a picture of what's on mine, but it won't load, Sorry!! Call Tom at cartpartsplus (vender) and ask him what to put in there. If your on west coast, get a hold of smallblock450sl. Find him in G8 Club.

OCD "and" ADD, huh!!?? Man, you must "really" get FAST!!...

No. Yoe need genuine Yamaha parts. Use venders on this site like cartpartsplus. Much safer of getting genuine parts and not brand X.

Thank you once again mike, i will go check out cartpartplus. I really would prefer to support site vendors.

So today i replaced the engine oil with synthetic castrol and also replaced the transmission oil with synthetic oil. man there was barely 1/4 of a quart of oil in the engine! good thing i changed it out.. it does run a bit smoother.

I am able to get it to go a bit faster, but wow does it wibble wobble... and the front tires have pretty bad camber \../
should i worry about it? i am planning in time to upgrade the tires to knobby tires and seeing on how $$ is i might go with the jakes 6" or if $ is tight, then with the knock off 4" lift...

i'm still waiting on the rest of the items i ordered to do the tune up, also bought new cable to swap out most of the electrical... but, little by little..

I also bought some quad ramps, they had them on sale for $99... so that should make it safer to load this heavy cart into the back of my truck...

*just ordered from cartpartsplus, great prices!
