what is the factory new compression for a g16 what is mid & lowest acceptable

Service manual calls for standard: 164 psi, minimum:142 psi. Remember to test with a strong battery and at wide open throttle.

Older carts have higher compression, the G2 is the most iirc in the 180 range in good condition, G9 lower. My G9 if you take the breather tube off the airbox when it gets worn it will start to puke more oil out, will also blow smoke out when hot. Can smell the stink when you slow and stop after a WOT run hot if you have it unhooked. Note with stock cart it can make it run lean mine was jetted and airbox hogged out some. I kept it hooked up because of the fumes, but it has a clone engine in there now after it started burning oil and smoking out exhaust. Never used a drop of oil before that and used synthetic in it. I guess they don't last forever lol but clone is awesome plan for it if you can and like more power.
