Default adding another battery for a 56volt system. thoughts?

what all would i need to do to pull this off? ive heard the chargers can charge around 60 volts, so tech it would charge all 7 of the batterys to atleast. what would be my downsides? this is just a day dream currently. i have the batterys, cable and plenty of space.

You will need a charger that will charge a 56 volt pack, your 48 volt charger will not charge a 56 volt pack to 100%. You need a controller that can handle the 56 volts. and a solenoid and cables, and a F/R switch. Your 48 volt motor will handle the 56 volt pack

I did a 64 volt system (8x8volts) in a china cart that had a lot of room. It was 48 volts stock. I got a charger from a GEM cart and had it modified to charge 64 volts correctly.
72 volt solenoid. I still used the factory voltage reducer. Stock motor, ran really good and increased range. Not really much to it

did you have to mess with the controler at all?

I read custom controller, custom charger.
Is it easy to do? If you are a golf cart tech with connections maybe so.
For the average guy reading this for how to info I'm not seeing any cost or contact info or instruction on the 'how to' part.

Would be a lot easier to add 2 batteries and go 64v. There are chargers and controllers available but they are expensive

My charger is reading 58 volts during charging, I don't understand why I need a charger. Also the cart runs well straight off the charger so i no it can handle 52 volts for a little bit. I guess the controller just wouldn't like that high voltage for a long period of time? Same Thing with the solenoid?

Research on golf cart batteries before you go any further. 2.5-2.7 volts per cell or vpc is recommended, times the number of cells in the 56v pack will give you an idea of the charge requirements.
There is a lot of good information available out there about wet cell battery charging and what is actually required voltage-wise for each cell of the pack.

Your 58v peak is NOT going to charge a 56v pack.

Peaks at 58 but when you go to operate the cart it's down to 52? Where did the missing 6 volts go? You have much research to do, grasshopper.
