Re: Recommended paint to use?
I have purchased a lot of paint on-line from TCP Global. Their "Restoration Shop" line of paint. You can get it in different formats such as Acrylic Enamel, Urethane, basecoat etc. Great color selection and they can also match factory colors for you. Much more reasonable than most auto paint supply stores. I generally use the acrylic enamel for what I do and then also clear coat it even though the clear is not necessary. They sell it in quarts or gallon. Also can get just the paint or a kit with the hardener. A quart is enough for a golf cart body. Here is a Yamaha I just finished with their products.

Re: Recommended paint to use?
I had to some cutting to get them to fit like I wanted. I also cut off the aluminum armrest channel where it meets the rockers. Then I riveted them on. They're pretty solid.

Re: Recommended paint to use?
My last cart I had sprayed in Line-X ultra.... not the full bedliner stuff, more like a hybrid between bedliner and paint. Looked great, bulletproof

Re: Recommended paint to use?
I used Rust-Oleum rattle can on a marathon cart I flipped. I used their primer, color, gloss and even some of the metal flake. It turned out really good. Would have been even better if I used Bondo to fill a couple small dents. Only took a minor amount of wet sanding to get a nice gloss finish.

Re: Recommended paint to use?
I would like to hear more about this. It is hard to tell from the photo what the finish looks like. Did you apply this yourself or did you have it done by LineX? Sounds very interesting. I know you can change the finish/texture of truck bed liner by the type of gun you spray with and adjusting air pressure but have not heard of this stuff before.

Re: Recommended paint to use?
Jamoore,
Are you still satisfied with the paint you used? Did it hold up well and would you still recommend it? Last edited by Ubbent; 02-09-2020 at 01:25 PM.. Reason: More questions |
