Default Speed potential of 2016 EZGo/Cushman Hauler Pro 72V AC motor

I recently purchased a 2016 Cushman (EZGO) Hauler Pro with 72 volt AC Motor so that I can haul a 1500 lb boat, motor, trailer in and out of a creek. It hauls just fine, but is dog slow (GPS clocked at 8-9 MPH). I have heard that I can get the dealer to reprogram the controller to get more speed. My question is how much speed I can expect from the stock 350 watt controller and factory 72 volt motor? I live on an island with fast carts, and I need at least 19-20 MPH to keep from being run over. My other 48v carts run 26-28 MPH.

Don’t let the dealer touch it yet. Where are you located?

The dealers can only corrupt your controller to give you a few MPH more, and it will burn out part of your controller. Do NOT let them do that, it will invalidate your warranty! I reprogram these things all the time and I don't need to corrupt the controller to do it.

Did you get this worked out? I have the same cart and would like to add some speed as well.

Hi Bob, if the dealer used the handheld to turn up some of the settings does that corrupt the controller?

Also, the legendary Bob Boyce I presume, I live near the TN/AL/GA border. If you are reprogramming a Cushman Hauler, would I be able to bring mine to you as well?

Just adjusting parameters with a handheld will not corrupt it, but it will alter the checksum of the controller, preventing it from being unlocked. Unlocking is the method I use to increase performance without corrupting it. If the checksum is altered, the controller must be reflashed back to factory original settings, or replaced with an untampered new one. I do not have files to reflash all controllers back to stock, especially the ones used in the less common types of Textron vehicles.

I have a mobile programming station. The vehicle to be reprogrammed is pulled alongside, and I do my work from within that programming station vehicle. It keeps me and my equipment safe and protected from the weather.

Bob, I appreciate the reply. What would next steps look like for you to reprogram my cart? Do I need to take it to a dealer and have them reflash it to the original settings then bring it to you or have you come here?

Dealers usually do not follow protocol and save the original settings so that they can be restored. Most just don't know any better. I'm heading south on a trip to Florida, so I'll be gone for a few weeks.

Bob,

Would the "flash file" from Bencomer's cart (which should be identical to mine) have the information needed to do a restore, assuming that cart has not been reprogrammed by a dealer?

Safe travels.
