Upgrades
Hi.* I have a 36v 2004 ezgo txt series cart. It’s lifted 6” with 14” wheels. I have 6-6v new Trojan batteries and HD* f/r switch.*I completed the 48v conversion adding 2-6v batteries, 2g wires, HD solenoid, alltrax AXE 500amp controller Everything seems to be working fine. I’m reading over 50v on my meter. I don’t see any difference in speed so I’m wondering if the controller needs to be programmed (any suggestions there?) I am having an issue with the charger ( it’s a delta-q quiq model # 913-4810-E3B) I switched out the RXV handle with my Dstyle and I’m getting the fault indicator light.

Re: Upgrades
So, let's clear it up, do you have a charger problem? A speed problem? Or both?
We'll be glad to help, but having a target to aim for will be awesome. |

Re: Upgrades
I have both problems. When I plug the charger in the wall the AC indicator turns on solid when I plug it into the cart it shows the fault indicator red light flashing once. In the manual it say that Is battery temperature fault. As far as speed goes I was hoping to get a 30% increase in speed/torque with the 48v conversion. That was reason for doing all this. Thanks for all your help.

Re: Upgrades
The charger is likely set to a mode that requires a temp sensor. There are cheap/easy ways to cheat this if you dont want to buy & install a temp sensor. As far as speed, what is the voltage across the controller B+ & M- terminals when at full speed?

Re: Upgrades
I would rather go the cheap/easy way to correct this issue with the charger. I will let you know about the voltage reading on the controller when I get home.

Re: Upgrades
Disconnect the green wire from the middle terminal if its connected. Install a 10k ohm resistor inside your charger handle, from the black wire to the green wire. Do not reconnect to the center terminal.

Re: Upgrades
Ok. I added the 10k ohm resistor and the fault indicator is off, I posted a pic of what it’s doing now.

Re: Upgrades
That was an awesome trick. Ok for the other issue between B+ & M- at full speed is about 24v
