re: Power spring
Not sure it will fit. Your car has different clutches.

re: Power spring
Jakes does have a power spring for a G29--but it's a one size fits all, just like the too stiff white spring for the other G models.
http://www.plowmanscarts.com/parts_yamaha_drive.html Call Don and he will set you straight on the G29 clutches. Early G29 clutches are different than the later models... |

re: Power spring
Intense to better help you out its like Dave in VA said the year model and some pictures of the clutches on your cart would help a lot. My cart is a 2011 refurbished fleet cart that came with a new JW8 drive clutch (FBT) in the front and a useable JW1driven clutch (Team) in the rear. Tie wrapping the governor got me 21mph but not enough low end torque on takeoff. I installed the Jake’s yellow power spring in the Team driven clutch and the top end stayed the same but the takeoff torque was much better. In wanting to get better performance I ordered a new JW1 Team clutch, but what I got instead was a new JW8 FBT clutch. At first I didn’t know if this was going to work, but it turned out to be the best thing that could happen. With the two matching FBT clutches I had to go from the JW1 belt which was standard on the year model I had to the J55 belt that works better with the new clutch setup. I found the J55 belt on Amazon for $32.00; it is a Kevlar reinforced belt made by Gates (24G3884) it is shorter and wider than the JW1 original belt. With this setup the clutches engage quicker and stays engaged longer which helps when coming to a stop to slow you down, using the engine back pressure.
Now to get to your power spring question. I removed the yellow Jake’s spring from the JW1 Team clutch and installed it in the new JW8 FBT clutch, the speed and torque remained the same. But I still wasn’t happy with the takeoff when pulling out into traffic. The yellow spring would go into the new clutch but it showed signs of rubbing/binding on the outside diameter. As it turns out the JW8 FBT clutches were designed by Glenn Erlandson of GBoost Technology, and after a phone conversation with Glenn he suggested using one of their springs (DRYA14) Blue spring tested with these clutches. The cost was $31.99 including shipping and I am pleased with the results. I have a 6” Jakes lift with 23” tires and I have great torque on takeoff now. I ordered one of Don’s carburetor jet and air box mod kits and have been experimenting with it to get the best performance for my setup. Good Luck. Robert |

Re: Power spring
Plowman can most likely help with the bandaid fix.
