Secondary sheive
If the outside secondary sheive has a little wobble to it can it be straightened or can it be replaced?

Re: Secondary sheive
Replace it. If it's aluminum and you try and bend it, it will crack. If it's steel, it's possible, but I'm not aware of any machine that will get it true.
I have to ask, how did it get bent? Are you sure it's not just loose? |

Re: Secondary sheive
Actually it being loose is a possibility bc I recently took it off. I had difficulties putting back on with the pressure of the spring so I really don’t know if I bent it trying to put it back on or if I just don’t have it on far enough? How would I know if it’s on far enough? I just tightened the castle nut enough to put the cotter pin in. Now when did all this I found a white plastic washer on the ground and could not remember exactly where it went in the assembly process. I took this off so I could get to the clutch side seal to replace it.

Re: Secondary sheive
Have any pics? Might help to see what's going on.
Did you use a puller to take it apart? What kind? |

Re: Secondary sheive
Prying on the steel version with a pry bar to remove it is known to bend them.

Re: Secondary sheive
I did use a pry bar to hold it in place to put castle but on. I used a block and taped on the back of the inside sheive to get them to come off. Can you buy just the outside sheive? I’ll work on some pics.

Re: Secondary sheive
You can, for about $60, I think.

Re: Secondary sheive
Fixed:
After looking at this I found that white plastic mystery washer I found on the ground I had put in the wrong place. This has it between the shelves. Also I took your advice on tightening the castle but. One of the two or both remedied my situation. Running smooth again. |

Re: Secondary sheive
Good deal. When venturing into the land of the unknown mechanics, I always use a factory service manual. Might be worth the cost to save you some headaches in repairs and drivability issues.
