G1 BBQ help
I tried the BBQ today on my G1 muffler. I cooked it for quite awhile and had flames coming out of both ends for a while. I let it cool tapped it on the concrete several times but did not get much of anything to come out. I put the muffler back on and ran the cart. I needed the choke to get started but after that it was good without the choke. Here lies my issue after driving a short distance I started to loose speed and it seemed to bog down I noticed a burnt smelling cloudy smoke coming out of the cart. When I put it in reverse it was pretty snappy but forward would dog out after 50 yards. What am I missing or should I left well enough alone and lived with pulling the choke to get moving.

Re: G1 BBQ help
where is the butterfly spring? I reattached the two springs on the muffler and the tube and sensor. I did wonder how that sensor works with the tube.

Re: G1 BBQ help
sorry, my mistake. I can't see my engine.Iwas going off the drawing of the g1 exhaust. The butterfly has a linkage that must be reattached if you detached it.It is attached to the exhaust portbetween the head and muffler. I believe that sensor modulates how much oil to mix in the carb.

Re: G1 BBQ help
The butterfly valve is inside the header pipe between the head and muffler. I BBQ'd mine last summer and a lot didnt come out either. I had the flame so, must have burnt more than I could bang out!

Re: G1 BBQ help
Tonka did you have a burnt smell and smoke during your first use after the BBQ? I am wondering if I still have some residue in the muffler or if I screwed up the oil sensor and it is getting to much oil, just brain storming problem is I am no mechanic not even close.

Re: G1 BBQ help
I don't think the oil sensor is messed up. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think the injector is mechanical... Yes, my exhaust puffed out a cloud of smoke after the rotosserie was complete
