Default Speed Code or Something Else?

When driving our 2013 Club Car Precedent, it has good initial get up, then slows down and maintains speed. When going uphill, the speed slows again (quite a bit) and maintains. When going downhill, if I'm pressing the pedal the cart maintains it's slow speed, when I let off the pedal it accelerates and starts going faster. If I press the pedal going downhill (after it has sped up), it slows the cart down immediately as if I had pressed the brakes.

Is this a speed code issue (I assume it is set to regular stock speed code, whatever that is), a magnet issue, or something else? I tried looking for other threads but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. Looking forward to the responses!

It could be both- speed code and your speed sensor. If you have an IQ motor, just get a high speed magnet. What does your cart serial number start with?

I did the speed sensor check (I think I did it correctly): drove to the hill outside my driveway, let it roll down the driveway and it beeped that it was rolling. So I assume this means the speed sensor was working properly?

The model number on the motor was: EJ8-4001A, which I believe is an IQ motor, which means the high speed magnet may work, correct?

When doing the speed sensor test did you also get resistance? Or just beeping? You have an Excel cart, which is sepex, but unfortunately the speed magnets are not compatible with this system.

I did the speed sensor test on flat ground today, I pushed it and there was no beeping but it did feel like there was some resistance.

I used my Waze app to try to track speed, and on flat ground it went 10 mph, uphill it went around 8 mph, and downhill went as fast as 24 mph (without pressing the pedal). If I press the pedal downhill, it slows the golf cart to 8-10 mph.

Figured I would just post this here instead of starting a new thread.... My cart only goes 10mph using a GPS app. Yesterday I ordered a high speed magnet but after doing some reading on this forum, I did the speed sensor test and my cart does not give resistance or beep so I'm assuming I definitely need a new sensor.

The magnet arrived today. If I install it with a bad sensor, will anything change?

10mph?? You can't outrun a fart with that speed... Bone stock that cart is capable of about 20.
