I agree with you guys! Didn't mean to leave you hang'in Club98.
If you had an issue before, it may have been bad batteries or a bad OBC that lead to bad batteries. I would run an extra cable so the OBC can read the voltage and see what happens.

IF I am understand this correctly, you are going to add a second cable (the new 4 ga) around the sensor and not go thru it?

By doing that you will divide the current that the sensor is reading - not all the current will be passing thru the sensor.

Current takes the path of least resistance. So you will probably flow more current thru the new 4 ga than the old 6 ga. Current will still flow thru the old 6 ga, but more will flow thru the new 4 ga.

I don't think the computer is gonna like that.

The computer when charging is reading the pack "At Rest" so there should not be an issue. It should be ok....seen it done a bunch and no problems that I know of.

THANKS to everyone who responded. You guys are fantastic. I was just getting the run around from the dealers who just wanted to make money.

I didn't want to ruin my new 4ga cables so I ran the old wire through the OBC and so far it is charging and the light is staying off.
This is my first cart which I've owned for three weeks and have had nothing but trouble with it. Hopefully with the new batteries and cables and all the great help from you guys I can start enjoying it.

Hey 98-Just for kicks take a voltage reading on both the old 6ga. wire through the OBC and also the 4ga that bypasses the OBC. I think you are going to get the came voltage reading on both and not a difference due to wire size. You can handle more amps through the 4ga. but I think voltage will remain the same. Any bets??

Voltage will stay the same...both old and new wire start and end at the same place so it acts like one big wire. The 4ga. will not really handle more amps because the 6ga is still hooked up. The two wires together act like 1 single path for the current.

Voltage will be the same, but current will be about 50/50. 4ga will have a little more since dc resistance is less, but you would probably need a micro-amp clamp on meter to see the difference.... Correct?????? Would look like one wire to the controller/motor.....
