Default 93 Club Car with 420 Predator carb issues

I have a 93 Club Car DS that we recently put a predator 420 in. A buddy did most of the work. The thing runs good at full speed. It is a little erratic at cruising speeds and if i turn sharp and hit the gas it usually blubbers and dies. Almost like its flooding out. It has the stock carb. He put a fuel pump on it that he said was rated for 5-13HP motors. I'm worried that the pump is too big. I have debated trying to get a smaller fuel pump, putting a fuel pressure regulator in, or even getting a Mikuni or something for it. Any suggestions?

Some of the guys here put a t in the supply line from pump to motor and let the excess pressure drain back to the fuel tank.

Install a T in the line from the pump to carb. Route the extra line back to the tank. That would eliminate over feed to the carb by allowing extra fuel/pressure to release back to the tank.

I wouldn't of thought it was that easy. I figured i would of had to run a regulator with a return line. Thanks for the help. If i were to put an aftermarket carb on it what would you suggest?

I have an electric fuel pump, low pressure, with a return line for my EZGO with VC625 engine. To "regulate" flow with the electric pump I installed plastic fuel shutoff valves in the return line and the line to the carb with a clear fuel filter after each. That way I can monitor the fuel flow through both valves and "tune" the pressure to the carb.

My 420 duromax was flooding when running pump off the intake barb switched to valve cover eliminated the problem

Every engine is different. My 440/460 wouldn't run off the valve cover pulse line. I had to use the intake type. Go figure lol.
