Throttle seems backwards club car ds

So I'm am new to golf carts here is what I have it's either a 98 or 99 club car ds I have recently upgraded to a 500 amp controller and new cables f/r switch and solenoid the issue is that it seems like the throttle is backwards when I push down on the pedal the cart acts as if it's full throttle I push to floor and it stops or doesn't go anywhere. The controller is a fsip 500 amp controller. Thanks for any and all help

Sounds to me like the controller is not programmed to the proper throttle for your cart....

Post the full Controller model # so we know what kind of throttle you should be using.

That is a 0-5kΩ Controller, if Your wires on on Terminal #2 and #3 are Green and Yellow like the wiring diagram below, You have a 5k-0Ω 3-wire Throttle.

To Convert with Full speed Forward or Reverse:

Disconnect the Green wire from Controller Terminal #2 and tape it, it will not be used.

Disconnect the Purple wire from Controller B- and connect it on Controller Terminal #2.

If You want Reduced Reverse speed.

Disconnect the White wire from FNR micro-switch #3 and tape it, it will not be used.

Disconnect the Purple wire from Controller B- and connect to Controller Terminal #2 together with the Green wire.

Thanks I will try that tomorrow. The description says it's a 5 to 0 not a 0 to 5. But who knows if that description is right.

I have the same controller and when my pedal is up it runs wide open. When you floor it it stops running. Now I have a throttle with two wires. One wire is green with a dark red line and the second wire is an orange one. Green one goes on terminal #2 and orange wire goes on terminal #3 on controller. What do I have wrong?
