Default Ceiling Fan in a golf cart?

Has anyone here tried this?

I saw a 96 DS trade-in at a local dealer yesterday. It had a 12 volt, 10" automotive radiator cooling fan mounted on the roof of the cart, centered over the seat. It was mounted on 2" studs to provide intake air.

Checking on Amazon, they run from 8" diameter and 8 amps on up. The blades are reversible to enable the air to blow down.

Might be a great idea for the evening, mosquito infested travels. Not for me though, but maybe for the more adventurous of you out there.

Do you mean something like this. I have a lawn mower seat switch installed to turn it off when I get off the cart at the green or tee box. The on off switch is near the FNR switch. Love it.

Also you don't have to turn the blade over. Just hook it up different

That's it!

Probably can get one at a junk yard for a song although they are less than $30 at Amazon.

I suppose you need at least a 20 amp voltage converter.

A 12 volt fan will be very nosie. Use a resistor from auto parts store to step 12 volts down to 6 volts. They used them back when they first started using 12 volt batteries in cars to step down voltage for light etc. also mine pulls less than 3 amps.

One other point. I did not want to put holes in my roof. You can see I used aluminum strips to mount the fan. I try not to do any harm and do things that they can be undone if someone later desides they want to remove it.
