Default Barn Find!!! Turf carryall 272 Project

Hey guys I am excited to join the forum. I am even more excited to take home this morning a "barn find"

So the prior owner said it ran and it was stored for a few years (we all have heard that story...)

Anyways I got it home and unloaded. The belt was off not sure why maybe to make it easier to roll?

I figured if I could put a few bucks into it and make it run again I can have alot of fun. I just found a wire diagram thanks to this site and I am off to the garage to see what happens.

So here is where I am at. Hooked jumpers to it. Lights worked. Bed piston moved. Nothing when I stepped on the gas. I am going to check out the solenoid and the starter motor to see what I can find and I will update the thread when I get back. Anyone else have any advice to point me in the right direction?

I plan to get a manual but I am too excited right now I need to jump in and get my hands dirty!

If its been sitting a while its very possible there is a stuck solenoid, micro, etc....

Nice find and let us know what you find to be the problem

I have decided that I am going to upgrade the motor. I am going to start a build thread in the big block section. Thanks for the responses.

The motor in it has a hole through the block. I found out the hard way. Went to check oil and did not see any on the stick so I poured some in only to have it end up all over my shoes..

It was one of those deals he said someone owed him money and he got it in place of it type of story. I bought it right though and I knew it was not running and would need some type of work. Didnt know it threw a rod but oh well what can you do. Time to upgrade!

LOL half the carts I buy have a funny story the owners always tell. Some are plain BS and some they might actually believe themselves. If bought right you will have no regrets and that looks like a very fun project to me!
