Programing DCX (what are the best parameters)
I went and bought a programing cable today (rs232 to USB) so I can now adjust settings if needed. I know this question probably comes down to cart specs (weight, tire size, motor, batteries etc..), actual cart use and preference but just want to make sure everything is in safe range.
My cart specs: Club Car (AQ02), 23" tires, 6" lift, rear seat, 4 gauges cables, HD solenoid, STOCK motor, batteries less then a year old -Sensor type- Club car 5K-0 -Field map #6 was preprogramed -After plugging in for the first time I noticed (in control panel) top speed was set to 50%, would it be safe to put it right up or would I lose too much torque? -Reverse was definitely full speed (so I clicked 1/2 speed in control panel) These settings we're as follow and I would like to know to leave or change them: -Max output- 100% , -Under voltage -16.0V, -Over voltage - 60.0V, -Throttle up rate - 5, -Throttle down rate- 10, -Brake- 100% -Top Speed- 50% What is (all located in the control panel): - HIGH PEDAL DISABLE? - PLUG BRAKE? - TURBO? Also, which I know this could be hard to answer with so many variables, but what would be a good average top speed I could expect that that controller and the above cart specs Thanks in advance, I know its a lot of questions |

The things I would change. Top speed 100%. Turbo = enable Plug brake = disable Brake current 10% Also go into the monitor section and make sure you have 100% throttle. HIGH PEDAL DISABLE = enable PLUG BRAKE = disable

Re: Programing DCX (what are the best parameters)
The only thing I would add is to increase the throttle up rate by 2 points at the time.
Test the cart, if You cannot tell any difference, go back to the previous setting. Once the motor core is saturated, making additional current available will only generate heat. The idea is to increase only to the point the motor will no longer produce noticeable gain in acceleration. |

Re: Programing DCX (what are the best parameters)
I used the max and min voltages available with the sliders.

Re: Programing DCX (what are the best parameters)
I had a chance to take the cart for a ride while having the laptop hooked up to monitor. Checking the throttle position it would only go up to 75% and I can definitely tell it wasn't getting up to speed. I'm hoping there is a way to change this?????

Re: Programing DCX (what are the best parameters)
In order to bench test it it takes 18V so I would set the min to at least 18v. The max I would set to 58-60v. It would cause trouble if you set it to low. Imagine charging your batteries and it wouldn't run because your battery voltage was to high.
