Steering wheel play

I steering wheel seems to be getting more and more play in it lately . I can turn the wheel a 1" or better either way without moving the wheels. Where is the adjustment for this cause what im trying is not working

I'd imagine either the tie rods, or #7 and #16

It could also be wearing in your kingpins, clevis plates, and bushings

The rack itself on a CC is incredibly strong, like Nick said I'd be checking out the two tie rods ends and the steering rod end. I've seen a couple carts with the play in the rack itself, but it's pretty rare, and I've seen some BEAT carts.

Well, my 95 needs the box rebuilt. The drag link and inside-the-box connection will move every time the wheel is turned. I think it is stemming from when the previous company put the passenger side wheel into the floor board. All my other CC boxes are tight. It's usually the front end that wears out

As others have mentioned, bushings, king pin play and steering box tensioner, also check the 2 10mm bolts that clamp your steering knuckles to the steering box and the steering shaft. This is a common one and if they are loose they will do exactly what you are describing.

+1 - I agree with SC Carts - the two 10mm bolts can loosen and do what you're describing.

I would suspect part #22 in that diagram. It's a left handed tie rod end. It wears out before the other two because it's the one that's constantly pushing the spindle around while you steer it. Have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth while you look underneath it to see where its' moving. This is usually the first place to start to develop wear. After that, look towards the passenger side spindle bushings. I'm referring to the metal bushings that are pressed into the spindle. Jack the cart up and see if you can rock the wheel side to side. You'll see the movement when you try to do this if they're worn. The inner bolts on the passenger A-Arm are also notorious for loosening themselves up over time. Torque them down and you might be surprised how much difference it makes in your steering.
