Re: Dpi charger
If I wanted a dpi charger, just cause. What I have us working fine. What would I need to do to be able to use either form time to time. Would running a wire from neg charge port to main neg battery do it. How would that work with the PD 2.

Re: Dpi charger
Running a wire from neg charge port to main neg battery and making provisions to pull in the charge relay should start the charger. Only thing is that there would be no auto off. You would need a timer like I had on my old E-Z-Go 94 Marathon. Something you could twist and set the timer for 4 or 5 hours.

Re: Dpi charger
Okay let us assume you are a coffee connoisseur or a martini man. If you had a coffee maker that made the perfect espresso topped with frothing milk or a shaker that made the perfect cocktail...... why would you want to go back to using anything less?

Re: Dpi charger
Are you sure the dpi charger doesn't perform a equalization charge? It would make sense that it would evey 20 charges or so many days? Why would dpi leave this out of the equation?

Re: Dpi charger
It doesn't mention an equalization charge in the manual. It is my understanding that a equalization charge is useful only to stir the electrolyte when it settles, but this wouldn't be applicable to a moving cart. It is also helpful to de-sulphate the lead plates because the batteries have been run down to low over time. To keep from having to copy and paste I am enclosing the manual. Read p 7,8 and 9

Re: Dpi charger
Perform an equalization charge with any charger by disconnecting & plugging it back in as soon as it has finished... Some recommend this equalization (over) charging once a month.

Re: Dpi charger
I do cycle the charger about once a month, the batteries I have on my 2012 cart are original and on the down side so it seems to help when I go for a ride. I'm sure at the golf coarse PPL just ran it down hard before recharging.
