The lock has a 3-digit serial code stamped on it and the same 3-digit code is stamped on each of the two keys that came with the box. I imagine you can order new keys if you lose them. One key I take with me, the other stays at home (5 minutes up the road). But I agree, a combination option would be nice.

As far as hiding the key, most swimming trunks have a secure zip or otherwise sealed pocket that will hold small things that can go in the water with you. I keep my cart key, and now my cash box key in that little pocket with me.

Exactly what I was thinking. I have a gun box that's similar and it uses a combo.

I don't trust my gun box to just a key, I have a fingerprint-scan GunVault in my home. But I didn't want to spend upwards of $200 for the same thing for my cart.
