Default runs fine than after stops slow to get going

Hello and thank you for any help. I have a 1994 gas club car it will start and run but when you stop and want to go again it takes several seconds for it to start again. I can smell gas so its getting gas. any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you may have a leaky needle & seat in the carb. Motor is getting flooded out with too much fuel.

Well, if you're already willing to buy a new carb, you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by tearing into your old one to clean it out. If that fixes your issue, then maybe you won't need a new one. You'll want to drop the float bowl off the bottom and clean up that needle & seat at the top of the bowl.
