Complete Drivetrain Swap 96 DS <--> 99 Villager
Hello to everyone. The title says it all. I have a 1999 6-passenger Villager with a seized FE290 (clockwise rotating) engine. I also have a 1996 DS with an FE290 (counter-clockwise rotating) engine. We thought about doing an engine swap and having the forward/reverse become reverse/forward, but have read that the results are less than favorable. So my question is should I just swap out the entire rear end (engine/transaxle/wheels)? Is that possible? Will they bolt up without modification? Or should I just look into replacing/rebuilding the original 99 engine? Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
