Re: Club car ,turn key takes off heeeelp
Not to hijack or anything but, mine did this last week. Ended up it would not even stop when in neutral with the key off. My F/R switch ended up catching on fire. Must have been quite a sight, me running it into a pine tree to stop it while I ran for the hose. Guess I need new F/R switch and a few cables?

Wow. That's pretty bad. The thing that concerns me is that the F&R switch appears to be intact. If it were broken, I could understand the arc and the fire, but with the switch intact you definitely need to check out other components. Especially the motor. Did anything else burn?

What about replacing the switch, wires, and maybe solenoids first?

Re: Club car ,turn key takes off heeeelp
The solenoids aren't going to cause a short that would cause your issue. They only carry one circuit across the two contactor posts. You'd need a positive and a negative coming together to cause such an arc. You don't have any negative current running through your solenoids. If you were to replace the solenoids and the F&R switch, but not correct your problem, you're going to burn up the new switch as well if there is a short in your motor. A simple continuity test on the motor would determine if it has a problem. Take all of the wires off of the motor and do a continuity test between A1 and A2 and again from S1 to S2. You should have continuity in both tests showing near zero resistance. If you have continuity between any of these 4 posts and the base of the motor where it bolts to the differential you've got a short in your motor.
