Default Re: oh no another charger question

Can I charge the pack with the negative bypass or will it damage the Batteries.

"By-passing the "negative" wire has nothing to do with the OBC ability to stop the charge cycle, but it will prevent it from regulating the charge current once the "trigger" voltage level for bulk charge is reached."

I know I would need to monitor

You can charge the pack, just unplug the charger once Your voltmeter reaches 60v.

If the OBC shuts down the charger relay when you try to charge the pack, You will also need to run the "sense" wire directly to pack negative to force the charger to stay ON until the pack reaches 60v.

Here's the latest. I was getting ready to install the nice jumper wire with soldered ends and all and I thought maybe I should try to reset the OBC.
I followed the direction from the sticky by David from Revolution Golf Cars' Thanks David. Sat there with a cold beer while the pack sat for 15 minutes. Hooked everything back up and presto the charger came on 20 amps
charger went off then back on still 20 amps, usually comes on off on and stays at 15 amps. Anyway sat and watched it and it started creeping down.
It looks like it is working the way it should be. At4:30 20 amps on the charger at 5:30 15 Amps on the charger. Will check again in a little while.

Thanks everyone for your help. Sergio I see your name and Davids name regularly Scottys too oh no the list go on and on Thanks to all.

Now time for a homebrew

Cheers
