Clean the outside of the negative radsok (female terminal) in the charger port.

The auxillary contact in the charger's plug touches there to sense the battery pack voltage for the charger.

Only the one on the passenger side. (Towards center of cart --- Item 16 on attached drawing.)

Something more aggressive like a Scotchbrite pad. Need to take it down to bright brass.

Negative radsok circled on attached picture - Should look like picture when you're done.

cleaned everything measured 38.3 at batteries, and 38.2 at golf cart charger input. charged for 3 hours, charger never shut off. measured 43.5 at batteries and 42.5 at charger input. don't know why it won't shut off.

I think some chargers go as high as 46 volts or so before they shut off. You're not in the danger zone yet, I would let it charge a little longer.

1. How long had the batteries been sitting without being charged or discharged? If over about 12 hours, your battery pack is at about 100% SoC.

2. How long it takes to charge a battery pack depends on how deeply the pack has been discharged, the AH storage capacity of the batteries, how many amps the charger is putting out, the temperature of the batteries, age of batteries, as well as some other factors. It may take 8 hours or more if the batteries are deeply discharged.

3. The 1.0V difference between those two reading tells me there is excessive resistance between the main terminal on the battery pack and the terminals in the charging port.

4. A properly operating Powerwise 28115 charger shuts of when the On-Charge voltage climbs to about 45.0V and the voltages you listed in #3 are below that value.

did you see it was at 47 when it was plugged in and charging. batteries are only a month old and I have been charging everyday trying to figure it out and not using the cart. so they are not discharged at all. I was wondering about that 1 volt difference. going to run new wires from charger input to battery.
so shouldn't it had shut off when I was measuring 47 while the charger was running.
