Default 2001 ezgo

have a cart that the f & r lever is hard to push or pull any suggestions didn't know if penetrating oil will free it up of if it will burn something out or is the something to loosen

It depends on why it is hard to turn. If it is too tight it will be hard to turn but you may also have something binding. I would disconnect the - wire from the pack and then loosen the center nut at the back of the FNR switch like 1/8 of a turn. See if it gets better. If so, hook you - wire back up and take it for a spin to see if anything gets warm. If not, good to go. If it still doesn't free up you can loosen some more but that can cause premature failure of the switch. If you loosen it a bunch and it still is stiff you have a binding issue. Take it apart, clean it, apply a little grease on the shaft and put it back together. All else fails replace it with a contactor setup and mosey.. Nice having push button switching

Yes you can spray a little penetrating oil on the shaft , NOT on the contacts. And see if that makes it easier before you take it all apart

If you spray the contacts. Just watch it and see if it gets hot and smokes
