99 EZGO DCS - crawls forward and reverse
I bought an 1999 EZGO DCS with no batteries and no controller. I put new batteries in and got a refurbished controller (EzGo DCS Golf Car Controller 73144G0) and put the cart back together. I believe I have wired everything up properly at this point and have charged the batteries. When I turn the key on and press the pedal it barely moves in forward or reverse. Also the reverse buzzer doesn't buzz but not sure if that is a factor or not. I don't have much experience working with electrical systems but grateful for any help. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the questions. The solenoid does click when the pedal is pressed. I also checked the motor and the part number matches the ezgo manual (73124G01).

I know this maybe silly but are you sure the batteries are fully charged? Are they cheap 7 year old walmart batteries or new crowns?

The batteries are duracells from Sam's club. They were manufactured in November of 16 if I read the code correct. I put them on the charger when I got them and each battery reads around ~6.3. When I read the battery series it is at 38.2 While I was taking the readings I decided to put the cart on jack stands. Now in the air the cart goes pretty fast in both F and R.

Sounds like battery trouble.
Attach the meter to the pack and read it while the cart is floored and going slow. I have a feeling the reading will be low. |

I just want to make sure I get the test you are asking for. So put the cart back on the ground, put the leads on each end of the battery series and press the pedal and read the voltage?

OK, battery pack was at 37.9 to start, when gas pressed went to 34.4. Same results for on the ground and on jack stands.
