Default DCS Problem Troubleshooting

I have a 1997 36v EZGO DCS cart. It has the lever F/R and a tow/run switch.

I press the gas pedal and the cart will lurch forward maybe 2-4 inches, then stall out and the buzzer alarm will go off until i flip the swich to tow. Then after 30 seconds i can reset the switch to run mode and the same thing will happen.

I then placed the cart on jack stands and tried again. When i press the gas pedal down i hear the solenoid click, and the tires will start to accelerate, i can let off the pedal and do it multiple times without the cart stalling and sounding the buzzer. As long as i don't press the pedal to WOT it will run fine and not stall and sound the buzzer.

I did the 10 pin controller test and the ITS test and everything worked as it should.

The batteries after charging are at 37.5Volts at the pack and with the gas pedal pressed and tires spinning it drops very little under the light load.

The batteries are about 5 years old and need replacing, however with the rear end lifted and little resistance on the tires could batteries be the reason for the stalling of the cart at mid throttle?

I really don't have the time or extra funds to install new batteries to flip the cart. Want to sell it as is for less money and walk away, but want the buyer to know if its batteries only or something else i cant fix.

I have very little knowledge about electricity but i can follow directions after i read them 3-4 times. LOL!

Thanks Ahead!!

Since the cart runs on jacks as long as you are careful not to fully load it and it refuses to run on the ground. I will venture to say the batteries do need replacing immediately.

WARNING - this could cost you double the $$$.
Further testing in terms of trying to go with a low voltage situation will fry the DCS controller.

Glad I could help - again I cannot stress enough - how dangerous it is to your investment to let anyone drive the cart or especially try to load it up in a truck with weak batteries. The controller will let the magic smoke out. Good luck

So... Brand new Fully charged Crown 6v batteries and the cart does the same thing.

Still stalls out under load.

What now???

Sounds like solenoid drop out to me. If it was batteries, testing them would have pointed that they were the culprit
