6V Batteries
I currently have Trojan T105 batteries in my 2002 TXT. Are there any tricks you have learned/developed to ensure good performance and life for batteries? I would also like your opinions on the best places to buy batteries. I have been getting them from batteries plus bulbs. Can they be bought on-line?
Thanks |

Re: 6V Batteries
I've not seen them online. However, you can buy Lithium batts online and do away with those FLA batts.
Make the batts last longer? Clean the terminals, and water them once a month, Plug them in and let them charge every time you use the cart. If you aren't using the cart for a while, unplug and replug the charger ever few weeks (no more than a month at a time). |

Look on craigslist and check your local golf cart dealers. Batteries cost to much to ship.

Re: 6V Batteries
The higher the average SoC (State of Charge) of your batteries, the longer the cradle to grave lifespan.
Never let your batteries sit in a partially discharged state any longer than absolutely necessary. That means charge after each use and use a charger the going into float charge after the regular charge cycle finishes. (IE: DPI Accusense) Also do opportunity charging when possible and practical. Keep cable ends and terminals clean and corrosion free. Use a protectorate like NO-OX-ID A Special or the spray-on stuff. Buy Lead-Acid batteries locally, or from a vendor close enough to drive to. Lead-Acid batteries are heavy and hazardous, so shipping charges will empty you wallet. (There are some vendors that deliver for a reasonable fee, but they are few and far between.) I special ordered my Exide batteries the a local farm supply (Rural King) and picked them up at the loading dock. |
